Privacy Policy
Last updated: Aug 12, 2026
This policy describes what happens to information when you visit TheCompsLab. It is short because the site does very little with data.
No accounts, no personal data
Reading this site does not require an account, and we do not ask for a name, an email address or any other personal detail in order to browse it. We do not sell or share information about visitors.
Server logs
As with most websites, our servers and hosting provider record technical details of each request: IP address, user agent, the URL requested and a timestamp. These logs exist to keep the site running and to investigate errors and abuse. They are retained briefly and then discarded, and they are not used to build profiles of visitors.
Analytics
We use Umami, a privacy-respecting analytics tool that we host ourselves on our own server, to learn which pages are useful. It sets no cookies, does not follow you from site to site, and collects no personal data: what it records is the page visited, the site you arrived from, and coarse technical details such as browser, operating system, device type and country. Those measurements are aggregate and cannot be traced back to a person. No third-party analytics service — Google Analytics included — runs on this site, and the data never leaves our server.
Cookies
We do not set cookies of our own, which is why the site shows no cookie banner. Third-party sites you reach through our links set their own cookies, as described below.
Affiliate links
Some links point to third-party marketplaces (e.g., eBay, TCGplayer). Clicking one takes you to a site we do not operate, with its own privacy policy and its own cookies. Affiliate networks typically use cookies to attribute a purchase to the site that referred you. We receive only aggregate commission reports from those networks, never the identity of the person who clicked.
Requests about your information
If you believe we hold information relating to you and you would like it deleted, write to contact@thecompslab.com and we will delete whatever we are able to identify.
