About TheCompsLab
TheCompsLab is a free market price reference for trading cards. We publish current values and price history card by card, starting with the Pokémon Trading Card Game, in English and Spanish — so you can check what a card is worth before you buy, sell or trade it.
What “comps” means
“Comps” is short for comparables: the recent sales of the same card, in the same condition, that show what it is worth right now. A comp is not a listing price and not what someone is asking — it is evidence of what a buyer actually paid. Every number on this site answers one question: what has this card been selling for lately?
Where the data comes from
Prices are aggregated from several market data providers that track sales across the major marketplaces. We normalize them into one structure — card, set, variant (normal, holo, reverse holo) and condition — express everything in US dollars, and refresh the data daily.
When a price is missing, or there have been too few sales for the number to mean anything, we say so instead of filling the gap with a guess. Prices are estimates, not quotes: markets move, and a single sale can be an outlier. Our Terms of Use set out the full picture.
Card images and trademarks
Card images and card metadata come from a different catalog for each game: Pokémon from TCGdex (https://tcgdex.dev), an open, community-maintained card catalog; Lorcana from Scrydex (https://scrydex.com), a trading card data provider. We show a card's image so you can tell at a glance which printing a price refers to — with thousands of cards sharing a name, the picture is the fastest way to confirm you are looking at the right one.
Pokémon card images and names are the trademarks and copyrighted work of The Pokémon Company, Nintendo, GAME FREAK inc. and Creatures Inc. TheCompsLab is an independent price reference: we are not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any of them, and we make no claim to their material. The Terms of Use cover this in full.
Why we built it
Price information for collectors is scattered, and almost all of it is English-only. Collectors who work in Spanish end up guessing, or reading numbers off sites they cannot comfortably read. We wanted one reference that treats both languages as first class: the same data, on the same pages, on the same day.
TheCompsLab is free to use and is funded through affiliate links — see the Affiliate Disclosure. Those relationships never change the numbers we publish.
